A bookmark in your Bible. A prayer close at hand. A question that opens up a conversation.
I grew up Greek Orthodox in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, with roots in Chios. After ten years of Greek school, there was still so much in church I couldn't explain. 12 Saints started in Greece, while I was reading my Bible and stopping every few lines to look something up. I'm still learning too, and this is the starting point I wished I'd had.
